The Greece debt crisis has been headline news for the past
few weeks, with the government failing to meet the deadline for repayment. On 5
July, Greece will hold a referendum by which the Greek public will vote on whether
to accept new bailout conditions, which may result in Greece going back to
their national currency, the Drachma. So what does this all mean? And will it
affect your wedding?
The answer is simple: if you have booked with Perfect
Weddings Abroad your money will be safe and protected as we are members of ABTA so your money sits
in our ABTA trust account. Therefore, you have the peace of mind that whatever
happens you are financially protected. What is less clear is the situation for
those couples who have “booked direct” with a hotel or wedding planner as they
will be booking in the local currency (Euro) and paying into a Greek bank
account that is very much unknown.
This year is Perfect Weddings Abroad’s 10th
anniversary and over the years we have had to deal with many situations like
this in the past, so you’re in safe hands. For the last four years we have been
voted as the Best Specialist Weddings Abroad and Honeymoons Operator at the British
Travel Awards. Our number one priority is protecting our customers and making
sure they have the best wedding or holiday possible.
With this in mind, we are giving all couples the opportunity
to upgrade their “Sweet and Simple” Wedding Package to one of our
fully-inclusive “Celebration” Wedding Packages at our 2015 rates. This means
that your wedding arrangements will be pre-paid in UK Pounds Sterling, leaving
you with nothing to pay for in-resort.
If you do have any concerns regarding the Greece financial
situation please do not hesitate to contact your Wedding Specialist or call us
on 0808 168 1210.
Nice to see some reassuring information for Brides to be, it seems these days bad news travels so fast and of course you would panic especially with a wedding coming up.
ReplyDeleteI am in Cyprus, and find myself reassuring people we are not affected but its good to see someone supporting Greece, keep up the good work!
