Keep Calm and Carry On – Your Wedding in Greece is Safe With Perfect Weddings Abroad

The Greece debt crisis has been headline news for the past few weeks, with the government failing to meet the deadline for repayment. On 5 July, Greece will hold a referendum by which the Greek public will vote on whether to accept new bailout conditions, which may result in Greece going back to their national currency, the Drachma. So what does this all mean? And will it affect your wedding?

The answer is simple: if you have booked with Perfect Weddings Abroad your money will be safe and protected as we are members of ABTA so your money sits in our ABTA trust account. Therefore, you have the peace of mind that whatever happens you are financially protected. What is less clear is the situation for those couples who have “booked direct” with a hotel or wedding planner as they will be booking in the local currency (Euro) and paying into a Greek bank account that is very much unknown.
