Real Wedding Feature - Dominican Republic

As the second largest country in the Caribbean, the Dominican Republic is an ideal destination for weddings, honeymoons and romantic milestones. The country's magnificent nature, stunning beaches and world-class accommodation set the scene for your perfect wedding day. No wonder the Dominican Republic is rapidly becoming the top Caribbean choice for weddings.

For couples who dream of unique and fairytale like weddings, the Dominican Republic is a dream come true as it blends a tropical paradise with old-world charm and romance.

Read Dom & Beth's blog about their wedding at the Hard Rock Hotel Punta Canta to find out more:

The Hard Rock hotel in the Dominican Republic was out of this world! It made the perfect wedding destination for us as it catered for everyone's holiday needs along with having the most beautiful settings and surroundings to celebrate our special day. It's hard to imagine the size and scale of the place until you arrive!

We chose to upgrade to the White Rosette package and it was worth every penny. The wedding coordinators contact you in plenty of time before you arrive and make the choices available to you very simple and straight forward taking all the stress out of a traditional wedding. The service you get is second to none and you really do feel like a Rock Star!

Perfect Weddings were fantastic in helping us to arrange our special day. From picking up the phone one evening not knowing where we would like our wedding to be and not having a clue how we went about it we were guided every step of the way.

Julie our specialist was very knowledgeable and gave us so many choices and options to consider so we could get the perfect venue for us. Once we booked perfect weddings we're only a phone call or an email away to get the help and support we needed.

Real Wedding Feature - Saint Lucia

No where does romance like Saint Lucia... Striking natural landscapes provide the perfect backdrop to your dream wedding on this picturesque island. Read Beverly & David's Blog to find out more...

David and I were married at St. James Club Morgan Bay in St. Lucia in September 2015. After 12 years together we had told our friends and family that we were going on a luxurious holiday and kept the wedding a secret. Our specialist at Perfect Wedding Abroad handled everything for us and there was an easy transition to the wedding co-ordinator Janelle at the resort. Janelle organised the legal side of things with ease (which was one of the things I had worried about) and took us through the timetable of events for the day. As it was just the two of us, the staff substituted a few things in the package for us, e.g. 2 cupcakes and a bottle of champagne instead of the wedding cake.

We had organised a beachfront dinner but due to weather conditions it was easily changed to dinner in the exclusive restaurant on site. The day itself was beautiful and relaxed. I had hair and make up done in the spa, and  the gardens where we got married were decorated beautifully. The lady that married us was very friendly and things couldn't have gone better for us. The photographer we had arranged took us round our favourite parts of the resort to get the shots we wanted and suggested a few more.

We were served breakfast in bed the following morning. I couldn't recommend this resort enough to have a stress free wedding day. For the rest of our holiday/honeymoon, we went on trips by boat and by car exploring what this beautiful island had to offer, the volcanic mud baths, snorkelling in sugar bay and the breathtaking Pitons. We are hoping to visit St.Lucia again some day as we had such a brilliant time.

Specialist Under The Spotlight... Charlotte on Jamaica

Our Jamaica Specialist, Charlotte gives her advice on unique wedding & honeymoon ideas in Jamaica...

Jamaica has moved from ONCE YOU KNOW, YOU GO, and come into a new light - with its logo - NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL ALRIGHT, being especially true for weddings, as you can arrive on the island and get married within 48 hours, (with an express licence, no blood tests, or document translation fees, and the ceremony will be in English)

We have just booked a last minute May wedding, for a busy professional couple, who could only find a 7 day gap in both their schedules, and originally thought a European destination would be their only option, but were really looking for a beach wedding.  We arranged everything with the local resort coordinator so they can get married ASAP on the beach, and then spend a couple of days relaxing before returning back to the UK.

We had another couple who took their first trip there 4 years ago, as new boyfriend and girlfriend, then on their return a year later he proposed on the beach during a romantic private dinner.  They are now Mr and Mrs having just married in April on the same beach he proposed on, with 18 close family and local friends.

If you are looking for really unique wedding ideas, then Waterfall and River Weddings provide a picture perfect backdrop in places like: YS Falls, Reach Falls, Dunns River and Rose Hall.

For honeymoons, Half Moon is a beautiful hotel with what seems like deserted island endless beach, and superb luxury detailed villas and unique activities such as horseback riding and swimming with dolphins....

If you are looking for ultimate luxury then the over the water villas at Golden Eye are a must... The location is perfect for a quieter luxurious stay on the island.

Charlotte's Top Tips:
  • Request a late afternoon/evening wedding time of 3-5pm as then your photos will have fantastic light and you will not be in the morning or mid-day sun.
  • Make sure your wedding dress is loose fitting and as light as possible to avoid overheating on your special day, even in the evening
  • And before your wedding day  - don't sunbathe for longer than 15 mins at a time in the sun  - even with SPF50
